Supercharge your UI with Storybook.js!

Are you ready to take your frontend skills to the next level? 
Learning Storybook.js can give you new tools for how to build and handle your UI components in a more logical, efficient and collaborative way. 

It's finally time to kick off the Göteborg Sunday season and everyone's invited! Join us for this super exciting Pink Sunday in Göteborg!

On September 25th, we'll gather at Lynk & Co's office in Göteborg to workshop UI management and listen to the fantastic inspirational panel talk about topics close to their hearts. There will be time to ask questions to the panel - and of course there will be fika and time to mingle! 

Inspirational panel: Have you ever wondered what a Product Owner does on a normal Tuesday afternoon? Or how a Lead Web Developer sees the future of tech? This inspirational panel consisting of people working in four different tech roles will be speaking about a range of different topics - and of course answer all the questions you can't wait to ask. 

Workshop: Build and organise UI components using Storybook.js - with Emma Westman, Lead Web Developer. To get the most out of this workshop we recommend you have basic Javascript and React knowledge.

Level of workshop:  Beginner/Intermediate, but basic knowledge of Javascript and React is good to have.

Preparations: Bring your laptop with a code editor installed (VS Code). To participate in the workshop you also need to install node.js and npm but this can be done at site. 

What else? There will be fika.

Angela Manwiller, Head of Web Platform

Angie is a technologist with a degree in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. With over 11 years of experience in technology, Angie has spent over half of her career focusing on product management and customer experience, helping companies like United Airlines and Lynk & Co transform digitally while delivering delightful customer experiences. As Head of Web Platform at Lynk & Co, Angie is responsible for shaping the strategy and vision for the Web Platform while growing and leading the team.

Jophee Wang, Head of Business Management Platform
Jophee was educated in Business, Economics and Computer Science and started their career at Lynk & Co in 2021. As Head of Business Management, Jophee works with applications used for finance, purchasing and HR processes.

Darshana Ekbote, Product Owner
Darshana graduated with an MBA in Marketing and started her career as a Business Analyst with a renowned consulting firm. This experience gave Darshana an opportunity to transition to the product owner role and explore the depths of Product Management. Darshana started at Lynk & Co in February 2022 within the Web Platform team. As a product owner, Darshana is responsible for liaising between the development team and the business stakeholders to bring business requirements to life for end customers.


Emma Westman, Lead Web Developer

Emma is a software engineer with a MSc degree from Chalmers University of Technology. She started working at Lynk & Co four years ago. Over the past three years, she has been part of the Web Platform team responsible for lynkco.com. As tech lead, Emma mainly works with code structure, mentoring junior developers, and securing integrations with other platforms within Business Technology.

Workshop
Emma Westman - Lead Web developer

Build and organise UI components using Storybook.js

Storybook brings together UI, examples, testing and documentation in one place for business and IT users within the organization. In the workshop we will share how to create variations of components and test interactions using the Storybook Play function.

Preparations: Bring your laptop with a code editor installed (VS Code). You will need to install the programs node.js and npm but this can be done at the workshop.

Code language: JavaScript, React

Level: Basic knowledge of Javascript and React is good to have!

Expected outcome:
Having a better understanding of UI management and basic knowledge of how to create and test components in Storybook.js.
